The Toast of Baird: A Holiday Animation for Baird

In 2012 Andrew was invited through Honeycomb Productions (now SRH Marketing) to animate

a holiday video for the company Baird that was shown at their end-of-the-year holiday party.

The animation is a "Hollywood Squares" themed comedy that utitlizes voices from Baird

employees and stock celebrity quotes from various interviews and clips. Andrew was in charge

of recording voiceovers, hand-drawing celebrities and Baird employees, animating, editing

all while meeting SRH and Baird deadlines.

The Process: 

Approved Sketch Work/Designs on Celebrities and Baird Employees 

All designs had to be approved by SRH then approved by Baird. All Drawing were hand drawn and the touched up in Adobe Illustrator.

Storyboarding:

Baird had given me a script to work with that was written by one of their employees. It was my Andrews to completely storyboard the script and present in front of Baird's creative team. After a few notes and handshakes later, the animation process could begin.

Voiceover Work:

All sound clips from the celebrities were extracted from various websites. Andrew then recieved all the voices from Baird Employees and set about animating.  

Animating (1 month 2 Week Process) :

Because the Baird people were looking for simple 'talking head' animations, Andrew animated the bodies first and added the mouths of the characters afterwards frame by frame.

Simple sets and mics were then made and like a large puzzle it was all put together. The Green backgrounds were exchanged for designs based on the old 70's Hollywood Squares.

Conclusion: Baird was more than thrilled at the presentation. Andrew was compensated for his efforts and recommended for any future efforts for holiday videos.
